San Diego native, Ashlee Colleton, currently teaches 4th grade in San Diego Unified Schools. Her teaching experience also includes classroom instruction in 1st and 3rdgrade, as well as private tutoring in grades K-6. As Ashlee says, “I absolutely love the kids and seeing things through their eyes. I think the ideas/minds kids have are amazing!” When she isn’t teaching, Ashlee spends her time cooking (especially baking), being outdoors, reading anything by Nicholas Sparks, and watching Padres baseball. Ashlee’s most memorable teaching experience was when she was taking a class on teaching elementary math for her credential program. Ashlee describes: “I was able to see first-hand what learning math for the first time is like for kids. This course and realization are part of what brought me to love teaching elementary math.” When she isn’t teaching, Ashlee spends her time cooking (especially baking), being outdoors, reading anything by Nicholas Sparks, and watching Padres baseball.
